MatchItIn short
We collect what we need to introduce you to people, and we do not sell your personal data. Your profile is only shown to people who could see you. Get a copy of your data in Profile > Download my data, and delete your account whenever you want.
Beta and the company
During the beta the person named in the Terms of Use is responsible for your data. When MatchIt+ is handed over to a company, your account and data move to that company to be used for the same purposes; before that we tell you in the app, show the new privacy notice and ask for the needed consents again. If you do not want this, you can delete your account before the hand-over.
What we collect
• Account: name, birth date (your age is shown, not the date), gender, phone number and/or email, language. • Profile: photos, bio, interests, prompt answers, optional details (height, school, job, star sign), music taste. • Preferences: who you are interested in, age range, distance, what you are looking for. • Location: your approximate location, rounded to about 1 km before we store it; others only see a distance in km. It can change at most 10 times a day. • Activity: likes, matches, ship suggestions, messages (text, photos, voice notes, GIFs), call records (length/result; calls themselves are not recorded), reports and blocks, events you join. • Verification selfie: seen only by our moderators and deleted right after the review. We do not create face templates (biometric data). • Payments: what you bought, the amount and date. Card details never reach us; they stay with the payment provider. • Technical: error logs, device/browser type, in-app usage statistics.
Why
• To run the service: show your profile, suggest compatible people, enable matches and chat. • Safety: prevent fake accounts, scams and harassment; review reports; keep banned people from coming back. • Payments and legal duties: invoicing, tax records, lawful requests from authorities. • Improving the app: fixing errors and understanding which features are used.
Who sees it
• Other users: your name, age, photos, profile texts, distance and verified badge. Only your match sees your messages. • Our moderators: content that was reported or flagged by the automatic checks. • Our service providers, only on our behalf and instructions: • Server and database hosting: cloud server provider (named here, with its country, once chosen) • Photo and chat media storage: Cloudflare (R2) • Phone sign-in (SMS codes): Google Firebase Authentication • Email (verification codes, receipts): Amazon Web Services (SES) • AI pre-check of content (photos, profile text, suspicious messages): Anthropic, USA • Music search and song previews: Deezer; Spotify playlist embeds: Spotify • Authorities: only when the law requires it.
Transfers abroad
Some of these providers process data outside Turkey (EU, USA). These transfers are made under Article 9 of the Turkish data protection law (KVKK) based on the explicit consent you give in the Explicit Consent text.
How long we keep it
• Account and profile: until you delete your account. • Removed or reported conversations: 30 days for safety review, then deleted automatically. • Verification selfie: deleted as soon as it has been reviewed. • Shared date links: deleted 24 hours after the date. • Error logs: 30 days. • Banned accounts: only an irreversible hash (HMAC) of the email/phone, for at most 5 years, so the person can't sign up again. • Invoices and payment records: as long as tax law requires (10 years), no longer linked to your account once you delete it. • Usage statistics: separated from your identity (anonymised) when you delete your account.
Your rights
Download a copy of your data (Profile > Download my data), correct your profile and delete your account (Profile > Delete account) in the app. For your other rights under KVKK Article 11, write to info@matchitplus.com; we answer within 30 days.
Security
Connections are encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are stored irreversibly (bcrypt), chat media is never public, sign-ins and sensitive actions are rate limited, and resetting your password signs out every other session.
Children
MatchIt+ is not for anyone under 18; we delete accounts and data of minors.
Changes
We will tell you in the app about changes and ask you to accept again where needed.
